John has been a member of the Learning & Development Institute since 1996. After enrolling in the L&DI Diploma in Training and Development he became involved in the local L&DI Chapter and held a number of posts on L&DI’s National Council including Chapter Chair, Education Officer and Honorary Treasurer. In 2007 John became a Fellow of L&DI for his contribution to the profession and was elected President of L&DI for two years in 2008. As President he represented L&DI members on the FÁS Excellence Through People Approvals Board and again served as acting President for six months in 2011.
